Why is your business still paying card processing fees?
Â
For several years, businesses of all sizes and types have been reducing overhead by as much as 5%, subsequently increasing profit by that same amount! How? By passing on a small fee on each sale you accept, whether with a credit or debit card.
Â
First of all, why are fees so high?
Â
· Costs of the Payments System and Security: The fees cover the cost of running the complex credit card network. This includes things like fraud prevention, maintaining secure networks, processing transactions quickly and reliably, and resolving disputes. Even though customers might not see the work behind the scenes, it requires significant infrastructure and manpower.
Â
· Fees are Larger with Rewards Cards: While rewards cards are popular, practically every card company offers rewards, cash back, airline miles, etc.… all of which cost the business more money.
Â
· Base Interchange Fees Increase 2x Each Year: Just like inflation and price increases in other industries, Visa MasterCard American Express Discover raises costs to the banks and payment processors to cover technology and communication cost overrides.
Â
The best and simplest way to avoid playing the ‘payment fees game’ is to pass on all or part of the fees to your customers.Â
Â
U.S. businesses all over the country are adding a service or convenience fee to credit and debit card purchases and promoting a discount for paying cash.Â
Â
Universities do it, utilities do it, tax assessors do it, local governments do it, truck stops do it with cash or credit at pumps, Specs liquor chain does it in all their stores.Â
Â
We have set up over 100,000 businesses around the U.S. and 10,000+ just in Texas, and they love that they do not pay for customers' vacation miles and reward points.Â
Â
They just let their customers know there is a discount for Cash and if they pay by card, a fee is added by the point of sale/credit card processor.
Â
A simple way to explain it:
Â
"We accept cards, but if you pay by cash you get a 4% cash discount."
Â
Three of my recent clients said:
Â
"Loving this new machine by the way...all the customers understand, no problem. Some have left to go get cash and they come right back...pretty cool. I should have done this ages ago! I am increasing my profit 5% overall, which is nearly $800 every month."
- Aaron N., Furniture StoreÂ
Â
"I like the cash discount program because it gives my customers an option to save some money, and I like it because it saves me money on the fees, over $450 bucks last month. Thanks!"
- Tracey B., Kennel and Groomer
Â
"Both our Liquor store and Convenience store are saving hundreds of dollars each month on card processing fees. We were paying over $1,800 a month and now less than $100.  Thank you, Ken, for helping us out!"
- Niyati D., Liquor store and Convenience Store
Â
Imagine saving 90% or more of what you are paying monthly now!

The POS system/ credit card terminal is required to charge that fee; it is not allowed by merchants as it may lead to profiting, which is not allowed.
